Consulate General of Switzerland launches video “Surprisingly Swiss- A Day in the life of a New Yorker”

The Consulate General of Switzerland in New York is proud to announce the launch of the short video “Surprisingly Swiss – A Day in the Life of a New Yorker”, in partnership with the Swiss Business Hub USA and Swissnex New York/Boston. The video reveals Swiss products, inventions, and services from both, the past and the present enrich, improve and simplify the daily life of New Yorkers.

According to the Global Innovation Index of the World Intellectual Property Organization, 2021 Switzerland is once again the world’s most innovative country for the 11th time in a row which several other studies echo.

 Ambassador Markus Börlin, Consul General of Switzerland in New York said A Day in the Life of a New Yorker goes beyond the popular and beloved stereotypes of beautiful landscapes, cheese, chocolate, and watches and showcases Swiss impact, sustainability, creativity, and innovation in an array of different fields, from science, technology, and economy to design, architecture and infrastructure.

A Day in the Life of a New Yorker gives visibility to ingenious Swiss achievements, people, and brands on the international stage, and brings Switzerland closer to the broader American public, reminding them that Switzerland is a small part of their day with a big impact on their life.

The video portrays a typical day of a mother and her daughter in New York City. During their day, the footprint and influence of Switzerland in New York City is visible through different inventions, designs, and architectural milestones that improve, simplify and enrich everyday activities.
