Today, global beer brand Corona declared about the grand opening of Corona Island. For eco-tourism, it’s a tropical sustainable destination located off the coast of Colombia. Corona Island is a first-of-its-kind island that is free of plastic and persuading the guests to reconnect with the nature by immersive hospitality experiences.
The beer is made with all natural ingredients that were born at the beach. It’s also the first beverage brand in the world with zero plastic footprints. Corona collaborated with Oceanic Global, the international nonprofit to set up the first Blue Verified Island.
Corona Island has grabbed three-star plastic-free Blue Seal of Oceanic Global for getting rid of single-use plastic and welcoming sustainable operating best practices. Starting right from building to energy production, food sourcing and guest experiences on-site, sustainability is at the very core of every single choice and touchpoint of Corona Island.
Felipe Ambra, Global Vice President for Corona, said that on Corona Island, they are having fun on the magnificence and attractiveness of the outdoors by making the visitors getting engaged in safeguarding the paradise. Everybody on the team, starting right from chefs to the architects, all of them added in developing a truly single-use plastic-free paradise. Ambra added that they are looking forward to welcoming visitors and regenerating their bond with nature and with luck creating more advocates to defend the natural world.
