A flight of British Airways, BA680 that was travelling from Heathrow was cruising over Germany when it abruptly turned towards Croatia mid-flight this evening.
The Airbus A320 thereafter landed in Split that is the second largest city of Croatia where passengers disembarked into the airport terminal.
It is thought that ill members of the cabin crew would be taken on to Turkey on an alternative flight yesternight. The airline then mentioned in a tweet while responding to an angry passenger who was on board the airplane saying that the flight was diverted as a member of crew was not well.
The flight spokesperson added that safety is their top priority and this was quite a necessary action to take.
Their flight was due to depart at 22.45 a.m. so they can carry the passengers to Istanbul safely.
Croatia happens to be the country that knocked England out of the World Cup in last night’s dramatic semi-final, beating the Three Lions 2-1 in extra time.
