Crystal Cruises recently announced that it has decided to cancel all ocean sailings aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity and all yacht voyages aboard Crystal Esprit through the remainder of 2020 due to uncertainty about the future of the COVID-19 situation. All affected guests will receive credit—valid for any Crystal ocean, river, and yacht or expedition sailings through December 31, 2023 that is equal to 125% of the cruise fare paid on fully-paid reservations.

In addition, a refund of port charges, taxes and fees paid as well as any air and hotel packages booked through Crystal will also be provided. For guests who haven’t paid in full, the credit will be based on the deposited amount. Travellers have been encouraged to contact their travel advisor or visit the cruise website to view the 2021-2023 full-year voyage collections for each Crystal experience.

Crystal Cruises said in a statement that like all travel enthusiasts, the cruise line is eagerly anticipating the day it can return to sailing the world once again and welcome guests back aboard. However, it informed that due to constantly changing variables related to COVID-19 coupled with differing restrictions for international travel, sailings had to be called off for the year.

The cruise line also mentioned that it is extending deepest apologies for the situation that is beyond its own control and is a great frustration for all. It mentioned that everyone at Crystal, along with the officers and fleetwide crew, are extremely disappointed that the cruise line was compelled to take this action. The company also mentioned that irrespective of the disappointment Crystal is committed to the safety and well-being of guests and crew above everything else and hence decided to take the decision.

It also shared that while the cruise line is looking forward to welcome valued guests back aboard again as soon as possible, it would not do so until it is deemed safe by governing health authorities. Crystal has also started working towards implementing enhanced health and safety measures and has already launching Crystal Clean+ 2.0 to ensure the well-being of guests and crew.
