Cyclone approaches Fiji, weather warning issued

Due to the impending arrival of a tropical cyclone the UK Foreign office had issued a weather warning for Fiji.

On February 13 tropical cyclone Gita is due to pass to the south of Fiji’s main islands.

The FCO mentioned said that an alert remained in force for the Lao Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, with the expectation of strong winds and heavy rains.

Usually Fiji’s cyclone season runs between November and April. The travellers were warned to monitor the local media and radio broadcast.
