Cyprus tops the chart in drawing tourism investment

Cyprus positions fourth among the countries with perfect strategies for drawing tourist investment globally for the period 2019/2020, as per a recent survey conducted by fDi Intelligence International, Invest Cyprus said on Monday.

The survey considered a number of parameters like Invest Cyprus’ strategy for drawing investment in tourism and hospitality.

The chairman of the Board of Invest Cyprus, Michalis Michael, accepted the results of the survey in a friendly way, which, he said, were a explanation of the agency’s efforts.

“We are particularly pleased with the results of the survey, which demonstrate that the ongoing efforts of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency are not only significant, but carried out on the basis of a strategy capable of comparing positively with other competing destinations,” he said.

Successful foreign investment in this sector, he said, is a major requirement for the setting up necessary infrastructure to help in the implementation of the objectives of the government in attracting quality tourism.

Michael explained that responding to the needs of the execution of the National Tourism Strategy and the purpose to set up investment in tourism and hospitality the agency has developed a specialized unit within the Agency under the name ‘Tour Ιnvest Cyprus’.

“This unit is solely responsible for attracting investment in tourism and hospitality and serves as the first point of contact for foreign investors,” Michael said.
