At the International Indigenous Tourism Conference, Dakota Dunes Resort and Casino got the business innovation award. This award ceremony was held in Manitoba.

An Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada news release explained that this award is granted to the ones who have displayed their aptitude to get accustomed to the environment related to post-COVID-19. Also, it is given to businesses that have been released since pandemic started.

Dakota Dunes in October 2020 developed its operation to provide a full-service resort for visitors.

The release said that the achievement of the resort is because of Chief Darcy Bear’s strength of mind to build up a first-rate Indigenous resort. In spite of the tough situations, Dakota Dunes has founded itself as one of the only hotels in the Saskatoon which has achieved a perfect 5 of 5 in TripAdvisor score.

The awards commemorate the local tourism businesses in and around Canada.

CEO and President of ITAC Keith Henry said that the winners stand for an inspiring and diverse group of local operators from coast to coast that have productively encountered many challenging years and keep on leading and thriving.

Each winner as well as the finalist should be amazingly proud of their contribution to the continuing achievement and growth of their industry.
