One of Atlanta’s leading full-service hospitality management company, Davidson Hotels & Resorts recently announced that it has decided to add Snowpine Lodge to its expanding portfolio. The resort features 54 luxurious guest rooms and suites as well as 14 deluxe dormitory beds.

The Snowpine Lodge stands as both the newest and oldest building in Alta. The original structure was constructed when mining was the primary industry within the Albion Basin. The building was converted from a general store to a post office in 1878 by J.G. Stillwell, manager of Emma Mine. Later, his son took over the hotel and continued to run the operation for more than 40 years. The hotel was given its present name in 1938 and categorised as skier’s lodge.

Situated on the side of the slopes the hotel provides unparalleled access to Alta Mountain Ski Area in Alta, Utah. It also has more than 10,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, a mountain-side pool, outdoor firepits and hot tubs. In addition, the property has its own Stillwell Spa, fitness center, yoga studio and a fully stocked game room.

It also comes with two unique dining experiences, ski lockers and Utah’s oldest ski shop, the Deep Powder House Ski Shop. The resort is operated by Davidson’s lifestyle and luxury division Pivot Hotels & Resorts. The Snowpine Lodge reopened its doors in January 2019 after a complete renovation with the mission to reflect the charm of the past while embodying a tasteful, warm elegance.

Thom Geshay, President, Davidson Hotels & Resorts said in a recent statement that as avid outdoor enthusiasts with extensive resort experience, the company is honored to welcome the Snowpine Lodge to the Pivot family. He mentioned that the unique history of the town and the overall development provides the hotel to present rich storytelling opportunities that can be used to create memorable experiences for guests.
