With tourists not only from the adjacent districts and states but also from the overseas having planned their visit to Mysuru for relishing the Dasara festivities starting next week, one of the main worries expressed by the stakeholders is the delay in the release of gold cards that permit tourists with uninterrupted access to the principal tourist destinations and the Dasara procession.

Jaya Kumar, the president of Mysuru Travels Association (MTA) said that the enquiries from foreign tourists for Dasara have gone back to the pre-Covid 19 levels.

Jaya Kumar said that not many enquiries came in the last two years. However, this year, they are hopeful about more queries. Still, delay in issuing the gold card is triggering doubts. More enquiries come from the residents of the UK and France.

SJ Ashok, the president of the Mysuru Approved Tourist Guides Association spoke about the trend. He said that the tourists are coming in batches of 12 to 15. An enquiry has been received from an Israel team as well.

Mr. Ashok said that the increased tourism activities are a constructive sign. For assisting tourists to visit the major tourist destinations with any problem, the Karnataka tourism department has launched combo tickets. With this ticket, tourists can visit Mysuru palace, zoo, railway museum, Chamundi hills and KRS dam. These combo tickets are effective till October 5.
