On Thursday, Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, declared that Delhi will get first e-waste eco-park of the country. Also, he made it clear about the framing of Delhi Film Policy 2022 to make the city a brand for shooting locations and promoting tourism.
The Delhi government has declared the development of ‘country’s first’ electronic-waste eco-friendly park that would manage rising e-waste. The park will be built on 20 acres of land, said Sisodia.
“Two important decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting. The first decision pertains to e-waste park. As the use of electronic gazettes and technology is increasing, e-waste is also increasing,” the minister said.
At present, every year, Delhi produces 2 lakh tonnes of e-wastes. The Delhi government will develop the first e-waste eco-park of the country in the capital, where recycling and re-manufacturing work will be done by following scientific measures that are safe.
We are happy to start this project first in Delhi, as per the guidelines of the Government of India. A consultant appointment has been approved for this.
