A recent update to international flight schedules reveals that Delta Air Lines has removed its seasonal nonstop service between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) from its upcoming winter schedule. The route, which operated for just one season, is no longer listed in the airline’s plans for late 2025 through early 2026.

Seasonal Service Ends Quietly

Originally launched in October 2024, the Orlando–Heathrow route marked Delta’s only direct link between Florida and the United Kingdom. Flights were operated four times a week using Airbus A330neo aircraft and concluded at the end of March 2025. The service added over 4,000 seats monthly in each direction and was part of a broader effort to expand transatlantic connections during the winter months.

No reason has been provided for the route’s removal. While the service was always seasonal, its exclusion from the following year’s schedule confirms it will not return for the 2025–2026 winter period.

London Connections Remain with Other Carriers

Despite Delta’s withdrawal, Orlando retains strong air links to the UK through multiple carriers. One airline continues to offer nonstop, year-round service to London Heathrow using a fleet of widebody aircraft, with 10 weekly flights scheduled for the winter season.

Additional service is also available to London Gatwick. Another carrier will operate daily flights from Orlando to Gatwick beginning November 2025, utilizing Boeing 777-200ER jets. A third airline, operating as a low-cost long-haul carrier, plans to run three weekly flights to Gatwick with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Wider Shift in Transatlantic Flight Planning

The decision to scale back or cancel transatlantic routes is part of a broader trend observed across the industry. Several airlines have adjusted their schedules in recent months, modifying frequencies and shifting resources in response to demand changes and operational considerations.

While Delta’s brief return to the Orlando–London market may be over, alternative nonstop options continue to connect Central Florida with both major London airports, maintaining strong transatlantic accessibility for travelers.
