Delta Airlines appoints Alex Antilla as Vice President for Latin America

Delta Airlines has appointed Alex Antilla as Vice President, Latin America. He is based in Santiago, Chile, and he will oversee Delta’s business and customer experience strategy throughout Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, as well as the airline’s partnerships with the LATAM Group and Aeromexico.

Alain Bellemare, Delta’s President – International said that As Delta Airlines continues to expand its international network and product offering to support the growing demand for travel, Alex’s diverse experience will be pivotal in leveraging opportunities, delivering the Delta Airlines Difference for the customers, and leading the best employees in the business. He also explained that Delta Airlines  will go at its best with Alex’s leadership, Delta Airlines will also strengthen the partnerships with LATAM and Aeromexico, providing the best network and customer experience throughout Latin America.

Antilla has worked with Delta Airlines for 16 years in the trans-Pacific, trans-Atlantic and Latin American regions, and in this new role he will focus exclusively on Latin America.

Before this new position, he served as Managing Director, Latin America Pricing and Revenue Management, leading a team of professionals focused on optimising and maximising revenue and profit for Delta’s Latin America portfolio. He has also held roles in Network Planning, Sales and Alliances, and has worked extensively on several of Delta’s joint ventures.

Antilla said that Delta Airlines continues to invest in delivering a world-class customer experience, he is looking forward to working with their teams to strengthen their partnerships and to deliver best-in-class solutions, products and services to our customers and partners in Latin America. This outstanding team is poised to build a bright future and capitalise on the great opportunities in this important market.

Antilla graduated with an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Emory’s Goizueta Business School. He has been based in Minneapolis, Tokyo, Atlanta and Amsterdam during his career with Delta Airlines.

He has also served on the boards of nonprofit organizations in Atlanta dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness for families and providing school supplies and sports equipment to needy children in various countries around the world. Antilla looks forward to fostering meaningful partnerships and continuing his charitable efforts with the local community in Chile.
