The Federal Aviation Administration said it will investigate an emergency landing by a Delta Air Lines jet on Tuesday in Albuquerque after the plane’s cabin filled with smoke.

The Boeing 757 was carrying 193 passengers from Atlanta to Los Angeles when the crew noticed smoke in the flight deck and cabin, the FAA said.

The plane diverted to Albuquerque International Sunport and landed safely about 2:45 p.m. local time.

There were no reports of injuries, and pilots told air traffic controllers that they had no medical issues on board. The source of the smoke was not clear.

Nothing is [more] important than the safety of our customers and crew, Delta said in a statement. That’s why our flight crew followed procedures to safely divert flight 2846 to Albuquerque.

The airline arranged for passengers to continue their journey to Los Angeles on another plane.

Matt Johnson, an Atlanta-based journalist who was on the flight, shared video that appeared to show the smoke as an alarm sounded.
