The unfavorable impacts of COVID-19 have provoked the government of Indonesia to make numerous adjustments to the tourism sector management of the country.

These alterations have been made in line with the constantly changing trends in tourism that need stimulating strategies to line up with tourist needs.

Therefore, by altering its approach, Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, is trying hard to revitalize the tourism sector of Indonesia in 2022.

The measures adopted to realize this include carrying out market recovery and expansion, innovations in products and services.

It would help in improving their quality, building up the capacity of human resources, renewing the destinations and financial infrastructure, along with rising business resilience with competitiveness.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is aiming on 1.8–3.6 million tourist visits from abroad.

They are anticipating 260–280 million domestic tourists, and US$470 million–US$1.7 billion earnings in foreign exchange from tourism. Also, it’s trying to push the contribution of tourism to GDP to 4.3 percent this year.

Tourists dominated by 20–60 years age group prior to the COVID-19. They travelled with their family or in groups and searched for well-known and affordable recreational places.

The tourist attraction managers gave importance to the crowding or urban aspect in terms of attractions, with amenities that gave importance to appearance and quality, reasonably priced travel vehicles and selected direct interaction services as digital promotions were still restricted.
