Currently it is home to another Delta brand — the first Delta hotel in Michigan and one of only 14 in the country.
The Delta Hotels Detroit Metro Airport, which officially opened on Friday, is located less than two miles from Metro Airport.
The 271-room hotel features amenities including a complimentary shuttle service to the airport, an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, dining services and a 24-hour fitness center.
Additionally, there is a free parking for overnight guests and access to I-94.
Two restaurants are located inside the hotel – mETRo pOlis, a bar featuring modern American cuisine, and Jyllian’s Bakery, which is open in the mornings for breakfast and coffee.
Delta Hotels has no affiliation with the airline; it is a subsidiary of Marriott in partnership with Crescent Hotels and Resorts.
Michael George, president and CEO of Crescent Hotels, mentioned in a written statement that that the hotel offers the best services for its guests.
Matt Sutherland, the general manager of Delta Hotel Detroit Metro Airport, said he is quite optimistic about the hotel’s future in Detroit.
He then went on to add that they have gone through some really great transformations and there is still more to come. He also asserted that presently they are working on their elite concierge lounge, which will be available for their Gold (Elite) members with Marriott Rewards, so they are very excited about that.
