Business Travel has become an absolute necessity for any business. Particularly after the pandemic travelling has become an integral part of any kind of business expansion. GBTA BTI outlook has published a Report and Forecast which says that Northern America spent about $320 billion USD on business travel last year. The average rating has increased to 4.8 per cent over the past four years.

Businesses growing with travel

Business travelling is becoming one of the most important factors to growing businesses. Specifically, the last year has deprived any businessmen of making face-to-face communication. The Global Business Travel Association has declared the travelling of the employees as a significant factor for business growth. According to the previous statistics US businesses have seen a $20 increase for every dollar spent on their business travels.

The personal connections made with clients and partners have a 60% more possibility of cracking a deal. Although technologies are developing to bridge the gap the face to face communication is something that will most definitely handle the situation better. Many companies also prefer to make face-to-face communication provided the protocols are properly made.  The role of technology here is primarily to minimise time and make communication easier. The day-to-day operations are definitely benefitted from digital communication but whether or not it can totally replace the face to face meetings is yet to be explored.

Travel Management with technology has some specific goals to achieve. These are centralised to but not limited to cost reduction, process optimisation and employee satisfaction. The companies are making the employees travel as a response to the employee complaints about prolonged work-from-home protocols.

Companies are now required to optimise the volume of business travel and identify the potentials and risks. Any company having more technology to track employee and travels are obviously in an advantageous position. The best IT solutions would help the employee with itinerary guidelines, workflow management, partnership management and monitoring facilities. A person travelling abroad has their security and business objective connected with the travel insurance given by the company. Many software provides a platform where both the employee and employer can communicate with one another. This will help to control any possible damage or risk that the employee might be subjected to.

Is digitisation the future?

According to the German market figures, business travel has amounted to 50.9 pound billion dollars. Digitisation will open up possibilities for monitoring travel and interaction. Emergency situations thus can be avoided easily. Digitisation ranges from the usage of social media to software monitoring. Now, it totally is depended on the company and the employee about how they are incorporating digital solutions in their plans!
