Wizz Air, one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines, announced today further expanding its low fare network from Austria by introducing two new destinations from Vienna to Málaga and Eindhoven.
The new service to Eindhoven will be the first direct connection from Vienna and will be operated twice a week. The second long awaited destination announced today is to Málaga and will have a convenient schedule of three weekly flights.
Wizz Air will start operations from Vienna International Airport on 27 April and will continue its investment by establishing a local base, which will expand to 5 new aircraft by 2019.
The expansion of the operations represents a total investment of over $570 million and will create more than 200 direct jobs with the company. The extended operations and new services offered will also contribute to the local economy and stimulate tourism as more than half a million seats are already on sale from/to Vienna airport in 2018. In 2019, the capacity allocated by the airline will increase to more than 2.2 million seats available for Austrian customers and their visitors on the 29 services from WIZZ’s network in Vienna.
WIZZ, as the pioneer of lowest-fare air travel across Europe, is looking to respond to the increasing demand for its low fare tickets and great travel experience, while further contributing to the growth of the local economies, aviation and hospitality industries as well as strengthen business ties between the countries. This year the airline has launched the biggest operational ramp-up, #WIZZaroundEurope, as between March and July 2018, 21 aircraft are allocated across its European bases and 700 new flights are introduced in its weekly flight schedule.
