On Tuesday, authorities announced that public parks in Dubai can finally be opened. As a part of the latest relaxing of restrictions related to the coronavirus crisis, parks are now allowed to welcome a gathering of five or less number of people. Sports and other recreational activities will be permitted in open spaces for the same number of people. Cycling, water sports, and skydiving might also be allowed.

According to reports provided by the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, the refund and return of goods, as well as use of fitting rooms in shopping malls and retail outlets, are also likely to be permitted. However, all relaxation actions are subjected to strict precautionary conditions. Shopping malls and retail outlets have been asked to abide by all previous preventive measures. Meanwhile, all sporting and recreational activities would also require comprehensive preventive measures.

In addition, as informed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), trams and maritime transport including the Dubai Ferry, water taxis, both traditional and air-conditioned abras, and car-sharing services have been allowed to resume operations. Authorities have also mentioned that all children below the age of 12 are allowed to accompany parents for a walk in the neighborhood and exercising in parks for one to two hours.

Residents have to abide by all precautionary and preventive measures outlined by both local and federal authorities. The usage of face masks is also mandatory for all individuals in all open spaces. It has been mentioned by authorities that strictly adopting and observing safety measures is important to enhance protection and support the efforts already undertaken to curb the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
