Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) in association with the Ministry of Health & Prevention and hospitality stakeholders launched a vaccination movement for employees of 20 hotels that are located on The Palm Jumeirah. This is in wake of ongoing citywide efforts to fight COVID-19 and further improve Dubai’s position as one of the safest destinations globally.

Dubai reopened its doors for domestic tourists in May 2020 and for international tourists in July 2020. Dubai’s hotels are adhering to rigid health and safety guidelines, offering superlative hospitality experience for guests. The acclaimed Palm Jumeirah is home to a range of globally prominent, luxury resort brands, and now, last month, more than 10,000 staff from these leading hotels have received their first and second doses of the vaccine at their individual places of work.

The vaccination campaign for hotel employees at The Palm Jumeirah is a pilot programme kicked off by Dubai Tourism for the hospitality sector to emphasize the high levels of protection in Dubai and the city’s commitment towards making sure that the health and wellbeing of residents and visitors are prioritized. The UAE currently ranks among the top 5 nations globally regarding overall vaccine rollout, with a successful test and trace programme.

Globally, Dubai is one of the safest cities to visit with a wide range of preventive measures in place to ascertain the safety of tourists at every stage and touchpoint of their travel journey – from arrival to departure.

Dubai’s effective citywide management of the pandemic was endorsed by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), which gave the city a ‘Safe Travels’ stamp.

Dubai also launched the ‘DUBAI ASSURED’ stamp to certify and recognize hotels and retail establishments, F&B outlets and attractions following health and safety protocols established by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management. The specially designed ‘DUBAI ASSURED’ stamp is issued free of charge and is applicable for 15 days. It will be renewed every two weeks being further verified by inspectors from relevant government entities.
