During National Travel & Tourism Week, VisitNorman Plans Luncheon

On May 2nd and 3rd, VisitNorman will be observing National Travel and Tourism Week with two important events.


At 11:30 a.m. May 2nd 2022, VisitNorman Annual Tourism Luncheon will start at The Well, 210 S. James Garner Ave. Jon Schallert, a nationally-recognized speaker on destination development; will be providing the keynote speech.

For the annual tourism luncheon, tickets would be $35 per person with table sponsorships available for $350. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Schallert will present a day-long destination development workshop the following day  at the Railhouse, 102 W. Eufaula St. Lunch will be provided. For Normanites, the fee is $40, and for those taking part in the event from outside Norman, the fee is $60.

From May 1-7th, National Travel and Tourism Week will take place. ‪The 39th annual NTTW recognizes the Future of Travel and the significant part the industry will play in reforming the workforce, assisting the communities make progress, fostering sustainability, conducting new innovations and reconnecting with US travelers and world over.
In 2019, the travel sector was a powerful economic engine before the pandemic, supporting jobs and motivating local economies in every region of America. In US, travel generated $2.6 trillion in economic output. The sector supported 17 million jobs and delivered a $51 billion trade surplus to the country. As the industry has been impacted in the hardest way by the COVID challenges for the past two years, it’s repositioning for a return to growth.
