The group anticipates opening the first domestic hotel, Asai Chatuchak, followed by a second property in the Sathon area of Bangkok by 2019. Four additional properties are in overseas like three Asai hotels in Cebu, Philippines, and one in Yangon, one of the biggest cities in Myanmar. All are expected to open in 2019.
The Asai hotels will have total of 1,000 rooms. The price is set at 1,700-1,900 baht a night, depending on location.
Suphajee Suthumpun, group chief executive of Dusit International, explained that the group expects to attain four extra deals this year, bringing the assortment for the new brand to 10 properties.
Also, the group is all set to add 10 hotels every year in the future, she said. Targeted destinations are Tokyo and Osaka in Japan; China; Manila; South Korea; and major domestic destinations like Koh Samui.
Ms Suphajee stated that the new hotels could be the own investment of the group, joint ventures with partners or arrangements with a management contract. Dusit International is in an important phase in terms of growth that targets to see the portfolio of the company of 27 hotels surpass 70 worldwide in the coming next four years.
