East China’s Zhejiang Province has kicked off a five-year tourism promotion program that plans to send 10,000 travelers to African countries, local authorities said.
As per the local authorities, East China’s Zhejiang Province has kicked off a five-year tourism promotion program that plans to send 10,000 travelers to African countries.
Chu Ziyu, director of cultural and tourism bureau of Zhejiang stated that tourism is the least disputed and the most effective area of international cooperation.
Bilateral relations between China and Africa will deepen and there will be deeper understanding between people of the two places.
As per the bureau a number of African countries signed up for the program. The destinations selected are Djibouti, Tanzania and Zimbabwe for the inaugural group of 300 tourists who will be visiting Africa in May.
Priscah Mupfumira, minister of environment, tourism and hospitality of Zimbabwe in 2018 the country only received 11,439 Chinese tourists which was less than the African countries. As Zimbabwe has rich resources it needs to do more to change.
The program was deemed as tangible step to implement the outcome of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation stated Lusekelo Gwassa, the economic counselor at the Tanzanian embassy in China.
