The enterprise taken by the Goa tourism department for easing application and renewal processes for the state tourism industry is indeed a good step, said the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The lessening of compliances will not only bring a sigh of relief for tourism, which is still recuperating from the pandemic woes, but it will also help in attracting new investments in the hospitality division, opined both industry bodies.
Both the industry associations had given a lot of recommendations for making it stress-free for tourism stakeholders to function.
Swati Salgaocar, CII Goa state council chairperson said that CII Goa lauds the inventiveness taken by the tourism department for streamlining the application and renewal processes for the tourism industry in Goa. It will come as a big respite for all current stakeholders and a motivation for new investment in Goa. This is a huge stride toward the right track for the tourism industry.
The Goa tourism department had issued a statement that lessened the clearances or consents required during the time of registration or renewal of a tourism-related trade.
Although shacks, operators of water sports and hotels among others will still need to acquire compulsory authorizations, the tourism department will not insist on sanctions as a prerequisite for registration or renewal of a license.
