Major investment by the UK’s biggest airlines will create direct jobs, including pilots and crew, and will support 1,200 indirect jobs in the wider West Midlands.

The 186-seat A320 aircraft is said to significantly enrich the offer for both business and leisure customers flying out of the airport.

Johan Lundgren, chief executive of EasyJet announced that they were excited about the new base in Birmingham, the UK’s second-largest city, which creates around 100 direct and many more indirect jobs.

Nick Barton, chief executive of Birmingham Airport stated that this landmark investment by Easy Jet is a huge vote of confidence in the West Midlands.

He added that basing three aircraft at BHX will create many more jobs for local people and many more options for customers. Denoting the years of hard work that have led to this. Together they look forward to years of future success.

Mr. Lundgren strongly mentioned that Easy Jet’s optimized network combined with the high demand seen for flights and holidays, enhanced revenue capabilities, and operational resilience means they enter the summer with confidence.
