Egypt vies for increased tourism ties with the UK

Khaled al-Anany, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities held discussions with CEO Mark Tenzer, Director of Commercial Relations Susan Deer and Angie Hills, the Head of Destination of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA).

Anany and the ABTA discussed the proposals of push and promote increased British tourist traffic to Egypt. it is considered one of the important tourist markets for the Egyptian tourist destination. He also praised the British government’s removal of tourist restrictions to the southern part of South Sinai and Fayoum, as it became possible for British tourists to visit them at any time.

He assured that Egypt is continuously working to provide the best service and care to all its tourists irrespective of the situation the country is in. He promises that the hospitality industry will upgrade themselves to meet the current global standards.

Egypt is trying to attract the spring and summer tourist seasons. This will be the best period for English tourists to spend their holidays in Egypt, he added.

The minister is scheduled to hold other intensive meetings on Thursday with a number of tour operators dealing with the Egyptian tourist destination within the framework of his short visit.
