The Elizabethtown Courthouse Hotel, a new boutique lodging facility in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, has been approved for state tourism incentives.
The Elizabethtown Courthouse Hotel will be located in the historic H.B. Fife Courthouse building and is expected to create 18 full-time jobs. With an estimated cost of $8.18 million, the project aims to rehabilitate the courthouse and convert it into a 24-room boutique hotel while preserving its historic integrity. The facility will feature a restaurant, bar, lounge, and event space, catering to visitors exploring the nearby Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
The project received approval from the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority, granting over $1.5 million in incentives. These incentives will provide annual tax reimbursements for qualifying tourism development projects.
The hotel is a collaborative effort between Weyland Ventures Investments and Elizabethtown Renaissance Associates. The revitalisation of downtown Elizabethtown, which combines historic charm with unique amenities, has been a significant driver of economic growth in the region.
The Elizabethtown Courthouse Hotel is expected to further boost economic activity and tourism in the area. The project aligns with the state’s focus on promoting tourism development and preserving historic buildings, showcasing the potential for transforming historic spaces into new opportunities.
