Ensuring short term rental rules defend tourism economy of Ireland

Airbnb on invitation, and as part of the pre-legislative process, has shared its outlook with the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht on the new national registration scheme for short term rentals that was declared in 2022.

The compliance reaffirmed the commitment of Airbnb to help the registration of all STRs in Ireland, which will provide the local authorities the information they require to crack down on speculators that impel housing anxieties and help everyday Hosts.
