Airbnb on invitation, and as part of the pre-legislative process, has shared its outlook with the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht on the new national registration scheme for short term rentals that was declared in 2022.

The compliance reaffirmed the commitment of Airbnb to help the registration of all STRs in Ireland, which will provide the local authorities the information they require to crack down on speculators that impel housing anxieties and help everyday Hosts. As new rules related to planning are being developed in equivalent, Airbnb emphasized the need to safeguard the tourism economy of Ireland as well, and permit Irish families and communities to carry on benefitting from hosting in the middle of a cost of living emergency.

In Ireland, over half of Hosts say they make use of the earnings from hosting to afford the rising cost of living, and more than a third declare the extra income helps them make their ends meet, yet everyday several Irish people are anxious about being kept out from the benefits of organizing because of unclear or uneven planning laws.

Airbnb launches a unique portal to Ireland to attract hundreds of people to every corner of Ireland every year, and stressing an exceptional accommodation, experiences and homes that visitors or else won’t see.
