Siemens Mobility and a Swedish rail operator have announced that they will be rolling out S3 Passenger – a pricing, inventory and reservation system across the operators network.
In a phased approach for implementation, the Swedish rail operator will be adding capabilities and functionalities in the months after going live with the software, however they will be utilising the cross-operator ticketing functionality which helps customers when booking long-distance trips.
The rail operator currently runs long-distance trips from Malmo to Stockholm as well as a night time service between Stockholm and Berlin.
S3 passenger is a modular platform, able to scale with the business and is currently used in 10 countries.
It’s platform is designed to give better passenger experience when booking digitally but also feed into the operators inventory system.
Kristina Nyquist, CEO Siemens Mobility Sweden said that their mission is to give their customers a pleasant and affordable journey and Sqills definitely helps them realise that going forward.
From dynamic pricing to adjust for capacity to the fact that night trains are supported out-of-the-box, those are just a few instances that highlight the flexibility of S3 Passenger.
S3 Passenger has recently been implemented by operators in North America and Europe, including iryo in Spain, SNCF which is based in France, and Brightline in the United States.
