The executive of the European Union has recommended relaxing the COVID-19 travel restrictions in June 2021, so that foreign travelers from more countries can enter the bloc. The EU hopes to boost the affected tourist industry in the summer of this year.
Under the current restrictions imposed by the EU, travelers from only seven countries, including Singapore and Australia, can enter the EU on holiday, not considering if they have been vaccinated or not. However, they must go through tests or quarantine.
The President of the European Commission said that it is time to perk up the tourism industry and reawaken cross-border relations. EU has proposed to welcome vaccinated visitors and those with good health condition.
