After a backlash on social media, Eurostar has updated its policy on how much alcohol passengers can carry.

Last year the train operator’s rules limited people from taking one bottle of wine or four cans of beer and no spirits on board.

The guidance is now revamped that customers can take unopened alcohol to their destination.

The move got positive response from passengers after they complained about it on twitter.

However, the firm will still have the right to confiscate excessive amounts of alcohol consumption on the journey.

A Eurostar spokesperson appreciated that passengers often want to bring a few bottles back from their trip and were happy for customers to bring unopened bottles of alcohol to take on their destination.

EuroDespatch can be used by any passenger with large quantities through Eurostar’s registered luggage service.

Last year Eurostar had originally made the change to its alcohol policy but passengers noticed it recently.

Eurostar’s onboard alcohol policy read as -“maintain a comfortable environment for all our travellers” it has “some limits” on the amount of alcohol passengers can take on board.
