EU’s poorest member Bulgaria is sending thank you card to visitors

BulgariaWhen, Europe is triggered with anti-tourism sentiments, Bulgaria is the only country, where the government is sending the thank you post cards to some of the record number of visitors.

 

 

The “Thank you for choosing Bulgaria!” cards, showing the Thracian tomb in Kazanlak or the Rila Monastery, will be sent to 400,000 tourists chosen randomly from the five million who visited as of July 31,2017.

 

The Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova said on her ministry’s website that the thank you cards would be personally signed by her as a sign of her “gratitude”. The addresses were obtained from the different hotels.

 

 

In Europe, Bulgaria is a cheap winter and summer holiday hot spot bordering Greece and the Black Sea.

 

 

The tourism in Bulgaria accounts for 13% of its economic output.

 

 

Bulgaria is the European Union’s poorest member. It posted a 7.2% rise in visitors through July 31.
