D. Balamurali, Additional Director (General) – Tourism & Managing Director – Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. shared his state’s new tourism campaign strategy with Travel And Tour World in ITB Berlin 2017.
Kerala had a fantastic year in 2016. The highest point of tourism was in Kochi-Muziris Biennale which will conclude in March 2017. It is an international exhibition of contemporary art held in Kochi and more than 32 artists from all across the globe came to participate. For 2017, Kerala tourism want to focus on the art and cultural tourism. In 2016, a culinary festival was organised and want to revive the spice route.
Beautiful beaches, backwater, wildlife, are the other attractions in the state but what makes it different from the rest of the states of India that everything is natural here. The government of Kerala is investing heavily for developing the infrastructure and for better and cleaner cities – not only for the residents of the state but also for travellers.
Being historically different from the rest of the states, it shows the amalgamation of various cultures. ITB Berlin 2017 has outgrown as a potential business contact centre and travel and tour operators are keen to expand their network in God’s own country.
