Evvnt Inc, the industry leader in event ticketing, marketing and discovery, today announced experienced media and tech executive Peter Newton has joined the company as US CEO.
Newton brings over 30 years experience in the tech and media industries, having been COO and Chief Revenue Officer for GateHouse Media, Vice President Sales at The Boston Globe and Senior Vice President of SMB and strategic alliances at Monster.com. Newton has been Chairman of the Board at Evvnt since January 2020.
Newton’s appointment comes at a transition time for Evvnt, as it moves away from being known purely as an event marketing and discovery platform, to an event ticketing company following its acquisition of Geotix last year. Evvnt is now commerce based and still continues to offer event creators its marketing syndication platform to promote their events, something most ticketing platforms can’t offer to their clients.
Additionally, Evvnt distributes its sophisticated revenue generating event calendar technology to leading media organizations in the US, including Gannett and TownNews, enabling them to run local “What’s On” calendars across their digital and print networks. Post-pandemic, this has enabled many event creators to get back on their feet, allowing millions of consumers to find and book events and experiences in their local communities.
