Five Kurdish militants killed in Mugla province popular with foreign tourists

Mugla province, Turkey Western Turkey which is frequently visited by Europeans shocked with the Turkish forces killing five suspected Kurdish militants.



Police and gendarme units launched an operation on Thursday after detecting a group of seven suspected Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in Mugla province of Turkey. Mugla province is a most prominent tourism destination dominated by the tourists from Europe and America.




There are some special units cordoned off the forest area in Koycegiz district after five of the militants were killed in the fire clashes.



The authorities said that the operation continues to locate and capture the two remaining militants, who are suspected to be members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).




The Koycegiz district of Turkey is particularly popular with British and German tourists due to its charming lake and the nearby hugely popular river resort of Dalyan.



The southwest of Turkey has the key tourist destinations like Izmir, Selcuk, Pamukkale, Bodrum, Antalya and Fethiye are locate, noted for its safety to attract the tourists .




The militants of Kurdistan Workers’ Party are in regular clash with Turkish forces in the Kurdish-dominated southeast of Turkey which is attached to northern part of Iraq.



On Wednesday, the Turkish fighter jets propelled its target to the five PKK terrorists whowere preparing for an attack in eastern Erzincan province’s Refahiye rural area, Turkish Armed Forces said in statement on Thursday.




The Turkish fighter jets also carried out airstrikes on PKK camps in Iraq’s Metina region, destroying their secret hideouts, as well as arms and munitions depots.




The Kurdistan Workers’ Party has waged a bloody rebellion inside Turkey since 1984, leaving tens of thousands of people dead. Kurdistan Workers’ Party was earlier designated as the terror group in Turkey by Turkish Government, United States of America and European Union.



The party seeks its independence through military uprisings and the blood thirsty rebellion against the Turkish Government by curbing all the economical sectors, specially tourism, travel and hospitality business.
