United Arab Emirates (UAE) has always been a preferred destination for travellers from around the world. Now travelling to UAE will become that much easier, as the country has decided to issue a multiple-entry tourist visa scheme for all nationalities.

Previously, the tourist visas were valid for only 30 to 90 days. But now, tourist of any nationality can have the benefit of five-year visa.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday announced that the UAE tourist visa will be issued for five years from now.

This step was taken in order to boost tourism economy in the country and to lure travelers from all around the world to gulf countries. The government is also trying to convert gulf countries into global tourist destination.

Sheikh Mohammed took to his Twitter to announce the news saying, “Today we change the system of issuing tourist visas in the country, to make the duration of the tourist visa for five-years, multiple uses, for all nationalities. We receive more than 21 million tourists annually and our aim is to establish the country as a major global tourist destination.”
The move is also a part of preparing the country for the next 50 years of development.

Recently, Saudi Arabia also opened up applications for online visa in September last year. In 2017, Qatar had removed visas altogether for 80 countries. For Indian travelers, Qatar granted a visa waiver for a period of 30 days on their arrival in the country.
