Strengthening its position as region’s prime cruise hub, Dubai this season is hoping to draw 900,000 cruise visitors, on Monday, the Government Media Office of Dubai said this. Between Mina Rashid and Dubai Harbour, the 2022-2023 season is forecasted to witness 166 ship calls. The prediction is all prepared to put tourism back on track, after the restrictions related to pandemic put a major constraint on the world cruising industry.
Dubai during the 2021-2022 cruise seasons in comparison welcomed 98 ship calls and over 338,697 passengers and crew.
Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, said that the strong position for 2022-2023 cruise season of Dubai will help in speeding up its target to understand the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – to make the capital city of Emirate as the most visited destination of the world and the best city to live and work in.
The cruise industry continues to considerably contribute to the tourism of Dubai and is prepared to build on the extraordinary bounce of Dubai’s wider tourism sector.
The Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, said that the Cruise Tourism has become the main contributor to Dubai’s economy increasingly. The central location of emirates, midway between Europe and Asia, is very important to its success as a main homeport for Arabian Gulf cruise ships.
