The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed recently to create a new visa category. It would be named – Ayush Visa, for international tourists, who are interested to come to India to avail medical treatment like therapeutic wellness and care, along with yoga instructions.
This special visa category will meet the intention of opening a special visa scheme for overseas tourists coming to the country for treatment purposes in various streams.
Reports also said that Ayush Visa category targets to fulfill the necessity for the introduction of a special visa scheme for international tourists.
Highlighting this, Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ayush, mentioned that this new effort will enhance India’s medical tourism scenario, and will reinforce their endeavor of displaying the traditional
Indian medicine on a global scale.
Previously, in 2022, the Prime Minister of India had declared of creating of Ayush Visa category, seeking to make it a part of the roadmap of India for the initiative of the central government – ‘Heal in India’ campaign.
Afterward, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Ayush collaborated to build up a one-stop Heal in India web portal to showcase India as world’s one of the top preferred medical tourism
destinations.
