For Greater Toronto, Canada invest $40M

More than 300 projects were helped to improve parks and trails and recreational facilities to draw visitors to region.

Tourism attractions like museums, festivals, various galleries and the waterfront in Greater Toronto area plays an important role in the economy and cultural uniqueness of the region, endorsing the exclusive heritage of the place and the natural beauty as well. The Canada government is aware of the significance of tourism and is committed to help the communities as they help in building a powerful future from coast to coast.


During Economic Development Week, the government is stressing on the vital investments that Ontario has seen so far to support the tourism industry.


The Federal Economic Development Agency, between 2022 and 2023, for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario, distributed almost $140 million via Tourism Relief Fund to assist businesses and organizations that are tourism dependent all over southern Ontario getting well from the ill-impacts of COVID-19 and welcoming visitors back in a safe manner.


Over $40 million was delivered, as part of this investment, to 310 tourism organizations and businesses in the Greater Toronto, offering unforgettable visitor experiences and positioning the region for victory.


Ihe Beaches International Jazz Festival, for instance, got $100,000 to develop the visitor experience at its well-liked music festival that is organized for two-weeks in Toronto.


With this help, the organizers of the festival were able to create a new event with the name – ROCKFEST. It attracted thousands of visitors to the area.
