For Vanua Levu, vital tourism project predicted

For Vanua Levu, an important tourism project has been earmarked.

Viliame Gavoka, the Tourism Minister, explains that it’s a World Bank project and it’s valued more than $120 million.

Gavoka stated the project is a holistic one and it comprises in upgrading airports.

Professor Biman Prasad, Finance Minister, said that still the project is under negotiation stage.

He added that for that project, he hopes to sign the contract around June and that comprises the upgrade of Savusavu and Labasa airports and with any luck after that, the projects has other components but the vital ones are the upgrade of Labasa and Savusavu Airport and with anticipation, ATR 42s will be able to land there.

Viliame Gavoka, Tourism Minister, adds that Vanua Levu is a high-yield market.
