Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas has retained its designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses for TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas, a par 70 championship course and Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club member only course, Cottonwood Valley.

Participation is designed to help course personnel plan, organise, implement, and document a comprehensive environmental management program and receive recognition for their efforts. To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas including: Environmental Planning, Wildlife and Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Chemical Use Reduction and Safety, Water Conservation, and Water Quality Management.

The landscaping team is led by Director of Golf and Landscape Operations, Anthony Williams, MG, CGCS, CGM, who was recently awarded the title of Master Greenkeeper by the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association for reaching the highest standards of greenkeeping and golf course management. He joins the exclusive list of only 85 individuals in the world to achieve this prestigious recognition.

“Anthony Williams and Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas have shown a strong commitment to its environmental program. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property,” says Christine Kane, CEO at Audubon International.

In addition to overseeing maintenance of two golf courses and 400 sprawling acres (160 hectares), Williams, a sixth generation farmer, also works closely with Executive Chef Christof Syré in the planning and harvesting of the organic herb and produce garden. The culinary team uses the harvest in seasonal dishes and cocktail garnishes in the Resort’s signature restaurant, LAW.

TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas and Cottonwood Valley are two of more than 900 courses in the world to hold the honour. Golf courses in the United States, Africa, Australia, Central America, Europe, South America, and Southeast Asia have also achieved certification in the program. The golf courses were designated as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary in 2015. After designation, courses go through a recertification process every three years.

Resort guests and Club members have the opportunity to have amazing encounters with nature and more than 74 different species of wildlife while enjoying a round.
