Frankston has been listed for the well-known tourism award – the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards 2022. It is organized by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council.

Frankston’s street art walking tours grabbed the top prize for tours at the 2021 Australian Street Art Awards, earlier this year. Also, Frankston was selected for the 2021 VTIC awards.

For the Victorian tourism prize, Frankston’s competitors are Bendigo, Echuca, Ballarat, Lakes Entrance, Mildura, Shepparton, and Werribee. The winner will get $10,000 of airtime with Prime 7 and will slowly advance to the national finals next to the two other winning Victorian areas.

Felicia Mariani, the VTIC Chief Executive, said that the awards act as a booster that helps to revive tourism following the pandemic. She said that they’re calling on every resident of Victoria to cast their vote and support our domestic tourism in return. In the last two years, tourism business has worked day and night to stay afloat. This is the right time to recognize the works of regional towns and centres in revitalising their tourism experiences and greeting visitors back to the town.

Victorians have been enchanted by their own territory. This lockdown has made us realize that we don’t need to leave Victoria for enjoy somewhere else. It has transformed our affection for dramatic domestic destinations. The Victorian Tourism Awards seize that adornment, and allow us to respect our preferred local regions of Victoria.
