In order to encourage more tourists to visit this region, Fukushima Prefecture is ready to permit foreigners to offer free skiing facilities in the area of Aizu. This campaign would be applicable for foreign tourists who are aged between 19 and 24. The visitors would be entitled to a free one-day lift pass.
For people who are outside the age range, there would be yet another offer wherein the tourists would have to shell out just 2,000 yen to obtain the one-day pass.
The area of Aizu is at a distance of nearly 80 miles away from Tokyo station to Koriyama station if one travels by the Shinkansen bullet train.
This actually makes it possible for foreigners who might have issues navigating the Japanese train system, in case the journey includes more than one train ride.
The Aizu area is complete with a number of ski resorts and runs. This includes a 3,500-meter trail for kids as well as beginners. In addition, there are also slalom runs and moguls for advanced skiers and snowboarders.
For accommodation, the visitors can easily choose to lodge at the Urabandai Grandeco Tokyu Hotel.
This is based close to the Grandeco ski resort that is amongst the largest resorts in this region.
