It was reported that Ahmed Al Aamiri, secretary general of the Saudi Health Council praised the decision made by the cabinet last week. Aamiri stated the new visa policy was approved as part of various health initiatives suggested by the council to promote the health sector.
The new visa is expected to attract top foreign experts who will take part in the research programs in the kingdom. It will only be provided to those who have proven their competency in different fields.
The kingdom has been taking various reforms and the experts especially the health specialists and could contribute majorly. They will be helping in Saudi to deal with serious medical issues like the prevention of the spread of contagious disease such as the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus that resulted in many deaths since 2012.
