A fresh flood alert has been issued by the Met Office in United Kingdom, as torrential rain forecast across the country.

This amber flood alert is in place for Stoke Trent after local heavy rain caused water levels to rise at the Liverpool Road river gauge. A traffic warning has also issued as August Bank Holiday Weekeend is nearer.

Also it is said that United Kingdom will bask in scorching temperatures over the upcoming August Bank Holiday weekend before millions of Britons are hit by a 32 degree C heat blast, with the latest weather maps turning blood red.

British Weather Services senior meteorologist Jim Dale told that as it looks from the models now, around the bank holiday temperatures could be in the high 20s and the extreme would be 30°C degrees. While temperatures will indeed rise over the coming week, she says it won’t be anything like the most recent heat-waves that sparked wildfires and devastated crops.

As a result nearby low-lying roads and land could be affected by flooding from the River Trent.

The UK Government advice states: “Flooding is affecting low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Trent between Norton Green and Darlaston including Stoke on Trent, Lyme Brook between Newcastle under Lyme and Hanford, Fowlea Brook at Stoke on Trent and Ford Green Brook.

“Further rainfall is possible over the next 24 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. “Our incident response staff is actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.

“Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.”

Also, the muggy weather looks likely to continue at least in parts as Britain enters the last full week of meteorological summer. The Met Office forecast for Tuesday reads: “Often cloudy but also occasional brighter spells. There are some rains or showers in places with a chance of heavier rain into southwestern and central parts later. The temperatures are expected to remain quite high, particularly in the south and southeast of the country, with the mercury hitting 27C in London. The weather forecast until the weekend reads: “Humid to begin Wednesday, ahead of a band of rain, occasionally heavy, pushing east, with showers following.
