AHLA Foundation, the benevolent wing of the American Hotel and Lodging Association has recently got a grant of $605,000 from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to help its Empowering Youth Program in the coming two years.
The main aim of EYP is to highlight the critical issue of workforce shortage in the U.S. hotel and lodging sector by encouraging equitable hiring practices and working out with untouched talent, comprising Opportunity Youth and other priority populations.
The grant for 2023 expands on the work of earlier finances aimed on hospitality training, work enthusiasm skills, and industry experience for Opportunity Youth in the prime markets.
The Senior Program Officer, Opportunity Youth at Hilton Foundation, Elizabeth Cheung, explained that they’re prepared to back the Empowering Youth Program of AHLA. AHLA Foundation is a reliable industry intermediate, all composed to head this project and expand future hiring consequences.
The AHLA Foundation, with this grant, will target its programming on solidifying relationships and systems amongst Opportunity Youth and community-based organizations during and after training session along with the industry employers who try to find the hire and retain them as well.
Eventually, AHLA Foundation is set to improve the hiring outcomes of the EYP along with simplifying sturdier response circles in the ecosystem of CBOs, employers, and youth.
