Frontier Airlines, a prominent ultra-low-cost carrier in the United States, is gearing up for a significant network expansion. This fall, the airline plans to introduce 11 new routes spanning 15 airports, with new services launching in October and November. Key cities to benefit from these additional routes include Atlanta, Austin, and Hollywood.
Starting October 12, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will see a new route, marking the 20th service Frontier offers at this location. This expansion aligns with Frontier’s recent announcement of establishing a crew base at CVG. The new route will feature weekly flights to Sarasota, with introductory fares starting at just $29, making it an attractive option for budget travelers.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is also set to gain from this expansion, with three new routes being introduced. The first, launching on October 11, will offer thrice-weekly service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Following this, November will see the addition of two routes connecting Atlanta to major United Airlines hubs: Newark Liberty International Airport and Dulles International Airport (IAD). These new services will provide daily flights, offering fares starting as low as $19 one-way, and will position Frontier in direct competition with United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, which already operate on these routes.
Frontier’s return to Dulles International Airport marks a significant move, as the airline has not operated from this airport since 2021. While Frontier has maintained its presence at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), this new initiative will reestablish its footprint at Dulles. Starting November 14, Frontier will commence daily service from Dulles to Atlanta, complemented by a four-times-weekly service to Orlando International Airport (MCO).
These expansions highlight Frontier Airlines’ commitment to broadening its reach and providing cost-effective travel options across the United States. With affordable fares and new routes, the airline aims to cater to a growing demand for budget-friendly travel options this fall.
