Further capacity at Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport for Summer 19 with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has today announced a ‘hol lot more sun’ for Summer 19 from its bases at Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports, including FOUR BRAND NEW DESTINATIONS. With flights and holidays going on sale today, this marks the company’s biggest ever summer programme from Scotland, and there is more news coming soon!

On the back of a bumper Summer 18 programme, there is even more growth across the two bases in response to demand for Summer 19. The addition of over 140,000 seats means that over1.7 MILLION seats are going on sale, a capacity increase of 9% on last summer. This hugely expanded programme also means larger Boeing 737-800 aircraft will come into the fleet at both airports, providing more seats to popular destinations.

The leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist will fly to 41 sun and city destinations in Summer 19 from across the two bases, giving customers an unrivalled choice from their local airport. This includes FOUR NEW DESTINATIONS:

Glasgow Airport – 950,000 seats (11% capacity growth) on sale to 33 destinations, including two brand new destinations:

• Kos – weekly Tuesday services between May and October, giving local holidaymakers a choice of lively party towns, laid-back seaside resorts and traditional fishing villages – alongside beautiful beaches and traditional cuisine
• Naples – weekly Sunday services between May and October provide a window into Italy at its most authentic. Daily life plays out against a stunning setting, rich with religious and historical wonders meaning that this compelling Italian masterpiece will stir your senses in every way.

Edinburgh Airport – almost 800,000 seats (7% capacity growth) on sale to 34 destinations, including two brand new destinations:

• Bodrum – weekly Tuesday services between May and October, giving local holidaymakers access to this stunning corner of Turkey, with charming resorts adored by beach-lovers and history-lovers alike
• Corfu – weekly Thursday services between May and October, giving local holidaymakers access to this fabulous island, which features secret coves, olive-strewn hills and fantastic beach resorts such as Sidari, Kavos and Barbati

In addition, holidaymakers can look forward to more flights and holidays to some of their favourite destinations such as the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Mainland Spain, the Algarve, Greece, the Algarve and Turkey.

Today’s announcement comes in response to continued demand for great value package holidays from Scottish holidaymakers. With more destinations, services and frequencies, they are spoilt for choice when it comes to where and when they would like to getaway, with more flexible durations available.
