Chris Garton will be joining Heathrow Airport as chief operating officer in the spring.
Garton had earlier served in the same role at Dubai Airport where he was responsible for growing the annual number of passengers and served from 30 million to over 86 million over a nine-year period.
Currently he is the director of asset management with Associated British Ports.
In a post Brexit World Garton’s operational and international experience will complement Heathrow’s focus on passenger experience. He will also help the airport improve its cargo capabilities.
The airport believes in delivering strong and consistent performance standards across the airport with his continuous improvement and change management.
A Heathrow spokesman mentioned that Garton is one of the very few people in the world with experience of successfully running a large and constrained hub airport.
