Garuda Indonesia offers “homecoming to Jakarta” deals for Eid 2023

Indonesia’s national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia, will not raise airfares during Eid al-Fitr. Instead it is providing special homecoming offers for travel to Jakarta, the airline’s President Director, Irfan Setiaputra, has informed.

Garuda Indonesia is offering “homecoming to Jakarta” deals for tickets purchased between March 3, 2023, and May 1, he said. The deals are valid for flights between April 13 and May 1.

A one-way ticket to Jakarta from Bali costs around Rp1.4 million, a one-way ticket to Medan costs Rp1.7 million, a one-way ticket to Gorontalo costs Rp2.2 million, a one-way ticket to Padang costs Rp1.5 million, a one-way ticket to Surabaya costs Rp1.1 million, and a one-way ticket to Lombok costs Rp1.4 million.

In addition, flights from Palu are priced at Rp1.7 million, Yogyakarta Rp900 thousand, Makassar Rp1.6 million, and Semarang Rp700 thousand.

Garuda Indonesia is also providing an extra baggage offer, with the tariff starting from Rp15 thousand, as well as a 20-percent GarudaMiles redemption discount.

Meanwhile, to ensure safe and comfortable flights, the airline is following a standard operating procedure (SOP) in the form of a pre-flight checklist, Setiaputra informed.

“We have what is called a checklist. If this is not met, there will be an action plan for collective safety and comfort,” he said.

Earlier, the government asked airplane operators and airlines not to raise ticket fares on their own for this year’s Eid homecoming.

“There is an important matter that we want to convey to operators: Please don’t raise the tariff on your own,” Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said.

The minister stressed that the government has established an upper limit on ticket pricing for transportation that would need to be adhered with. He cautioned that operators breaching the higher limit will bring hefty penalties.
