In order to cater to the necessities of tourists before the tourism season gets started in the coastal state, the Goa Cabinet has extended the ‘Tourism Shack Policy’.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the Tourism Shack Policy 2019-2022 has been prolonged for assisting in creating temporary constructions, beach shacks, umbrellas and huts as well as decks for the 2022-23 tourist season.
Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that before the commencement of the tourism season, Goa will be prepared to provide to the necessities of the tourists taking the shack policy into account.

Khaunte said that the shack policy is coming to an end this year. Since the stakeholders could carry on their trade only for one year, with two years getting wasted due to the pandemic, there is a demand to prolong the shack policy for two more years as a minimum time.

Khaunte said that after discussing the subject with the Chief Minister, they have decided to lengthen the policy on similar terms and conditions for one year on sympathetic reasons. This will help the shareholders already having made investments earlier.
